Meta Advertising is Simple, But people overcomplicate it.

The success of your meta-advertising is determined by the following 4 factors:

  1. Product Demand

  2. Website Conversion Rate

  3. Ad Creatives

  4. Targeting (Ad Funnel)

If your ads are under-performing, you need to establish which of the four is the limiting factor and address it.

In this blog, I’ll share the exact ad funnel we’ve used to generate over £100 million in sales for our DTC clients.

What is an Ad Funnel?

A Facebook ad funnel is the process of nurturing a potential customer with Facebook ads from their first interaction with your brand to becoming a paying customer and in ideal cases a repeat customer.

A good funnel will minimise “audience overlap” with exclusions to nurture consumers into customers while maximising ROAS and preventing inefficient spend.

By maximising ROAS and preventing inefficient spend we can scale much further, much faster.

Our Proven Ad Funnel

We’ve used this exact funnel across a host of categories including; Fashion, Activewear, Home, Beauty, Accessories, children-wear and more to generate over £50 million in sales.

Before I share the funnel It’s important to remember the funnel is only as good as the creatives and data you feed it. The more data and the better creatives you have the better your results will be.

Using exclusions we segment our potential customers by their level of buying intent, into;

  1. Top of Funnel

  2. Middle of Funnel

  3. Bottom of Funnel

Top of Funnel

Drive as many potential customers to your website to view your products.

Once they visit our website they will move down into the middle and bottom of the funnel where we can increase their trust in our brand to the point of making a purchase.

Middle of Funnel

These individuals have shown an interest in your products. The reason they haven't bought from you is that they don’t trust you can deliver on their expectations.

Here you can use existing posts/ ads with the most social proof (likes/ comments) to convince them we are what they are looking for. Online shoppers are convinced by the quality of an online brand by comments, likes and followers in the same way you and I are convinced a full restaurant is better than an empty one.

Bottom Of Funnel

Retargeting customers who have "Viewed Content" or "Added to cart" or showcase new products to active customers (purchased in the last 180 days).

The aim here is to convert the customers who have strongly considered purchasing and just need a slight nudge, or to remind active customers of your latest offerings.

In Closing

Now you’ve got a tested and proven ad funnel, it’s time to focus on improving your ad creatives. We use Facebook’s Ad Library to get inspiration, and we highly recommend you do the same.

Sir Henry Royce, founder of Rolls Royce once said, “Take the best that exists and make it better. If it doesn't exist, create it.”. Find ads that are doing well and look for ways to make them better, Don’t try to recreate the wheel - It’s will cost you money and time.

I hope this ad funnel will benefit you as much as it has us. If you need clarification on anything please reach out.
